专利摘要:
A bag of zip closures is described. The bag is formed of a first and second superimposed flat side as well as folded side pieces which are placed between the flat sides of the bag and are welded to edge areas at the side edges of the flat sides. The bag comprises cooperating zipper elements in the form of a male element and a female element which are connected to each of their flat sides and which extend from side to side. To achieve the greatest possible opening of the bag, the folded side pieces extend from the bottom edge of the bag to the top edge of the bag. In the side pieces, a recess of material is established in an area where the zipper elements are arranged. Thus, the side pieces in the recess area will have a material thickness which allows the male and female elements to engage with each other while the material from the side pieces is clamped therebetween.

Bag with zip closure and side fold
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a zip closure bag formed by a first and second superimposed flat side, and folded side pieces positioned between the flat sides of the bag and welded to edge areas at the side edges of the bag and which comprises cooperating zipper members connected each with its own flat side, and extending from side to side.
The zipper members are typically positioned parallel to the top edge of the bag, defining the opening of the bag and typically a short distance from the top edge. Such bags are generally made of plastic foils, where at least facing sheets are weldable plastic materials. Multilayer foils are also used.
The bags may optionally be provided with folded bottom pieces to form standing bags, or the flat sides of the bag may be directly joined together in edge areas along the bottom edge of the bag.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Bags with folded side pieces are advantageous over flat bags where the two flat sides are directly connected to one another by welding edge areas along the side edges and bottom edge of the bag. The advantage is a larger access opening. The opening appears with a largely rectangular cross section. This is an advantage of filling that can be done quickly, as are the advantages of removing the contents of the bag, as there is easier access to the interior of the bag. When working with bags with zipper closures, there is a general difficulty in establishing a complete seal in the area around the zipper closure elements at the side edges of the bag. This problem is due to thickness differences occurring at bag edges welded with zipper elements located therebetween.
In the case of folded side bags there are further difficulties, since the side pieces, which consist of folded side pieces, will help to increase the thickness difference in the area around the zipper elements at the flat sides of the bag.
It is known from US 6,796,932 bags of this type in which the folded side pieces extend from the bottom of the bag to a position below the zipper lid. The zipper closure extends from side to side of the bag. Weld areas have been welded together at the side edges of the flat sides from the top edge to a position below the zipper lid. This means that the opening of the bag corresponds to the opening of a traditional flat bag formed of two flat sides which are welded directly to each other's edge areas at the side edges of the flat sides. In practice, it is also known to provide such bags with a foil web attached to one of the flat sides and has a width such that the upper part of the folded side pieces is attached to the bag side, which foil web extends from side edge to side edge of the bag. The foil web has an extension towards the opening of the bag past the zipper elements. This produces additional thickness differences.
Thus, for many years it has been a widespread problem to provide zippered bags with folded side pieces and at the same time ensure that the opening of the bag has the same cross-sectional area as the cross-sectional area of the bag with the folded side edges in the extended state.
Thus, it has been desirable to provide a bag of the type mentioned initially where it is possible to establish a large opening.
The object of the invention
It is an object of the invention to provide a side folded bag with a zipper closure, the opening of the bag having the same cross-sectional area as the cross sectional area of the bag with the folded side pieces in the extended state, and where the problem of establishing a tight bag in the area of the zip closure at the side edges of the bag is solved in a simple manner. manner.
Description of the Invention
This object is achieved according to the present invention with a bag of the kind mentioned initially, which is characterized in that the folded side pieces extend from the bottom edge of the bag to the top edge of the bag and that a recess of material is established in a region. wherein the zipper elements are arranged so that the side pieces in the recess area have a material thickness which allows the male and female elements to engage with each other while the material from the side pieces is clamped therebetween.
Upon opening such a bag, an access opening is obtained which is of substantially rectangular cross-section. This facilitates filling which can be done quickly, as well as easier removal of the contents of the bag, with easier access to the interior of the bag through the rectangular opening. The opening of the bag is approx. 15% larger than the opening for a similarly sized bag where the flat sides are directly welded together! ..
By providing flat sides and side surfaces with materials and thicknesses determined from the use of the bag and producing the side pieces with a substantially smaller thickness in a defined area outside the zipper lid, it becomes possible to squeeze the folded side pieces between the zipper elements when the bag is closed. This establishes a very close closure.
It is thus important that the side pieces have a thickness such that an interlocking of the zipper elements is possible with a clamping force which clamps the flat sides in the engagement between the two zipper elements.
In order to establish such a difference in material thickness, it is necessary that a recess is made in a thick foil. This is a relatively simple process.
Although the zipper element will contribute to a greater thickness, there will no longer be a problem in having the welding jaws brought together sufficiently. Thus, smaller leaks that occur in the area around the zipper elements at the side edges of the flat sides will not pose a problem, as the squeeze of the side seams between the zipper members will establish a tight closure of the bag.
Thus, with the solution of the present invention, modifications which have been used in the past are avoided. In addition to the initially mentioned use of shortened side pieces in relation to the height of the bag between the bottom edge and the top edge, shortened zipper elements which did not extend completely between the side edges of the bag have also been used. Thus, with a bag of the present invention, it will be possible to produce the bags in contiguous webs where the zipper elements are also applied in long strip shaped webs and simply cut off to form individual bag items where the zipper elements will extend between the side edges of the bag.
According to a further embodiment, the invention is characterized in that the zipper elements are strip-shaped and that the trade has a protrusion and that the dog part is made with two resilient legs forming a concavity adapted to receive the trade protrusion as well as the folded side pieces. by squeezing the trade-off between the trade-offs,
The protrusion may be the mushroom fomium or arrow shaped, and the concavity of the trade is provided with a correspondingly shaped undercut to establish a secure retention.
The two resilient legs of the dog part enable compression of the trade between the legs in such a way that the plastic material from the side pieces will be retained by the resilient ability of the legs.
According to a further embodiment, the invention is characterized in that the side pieces in the region next to the recesses have a thickness between 5 and 25 μπι, preferably between .10 and 20 μπι. This with a common zipper closure will provide a tight closure.
Typically, the size of the zippers used will be made with a total width of 2 mm and a height of 1.8 mm for a zipper construction.
According to a further embodiment, the invention is characterized in that the flat sides and the side pieces are formed of a plastic film having a thickness between 50 and 200 µm, preferably between 80 and 120 µχη. These are commonly used foil thicknesses
According to a further embodiment, the invention is characterized in that the superimposed face sides are made of multilayer foils, that at least the outermost layer of the first and second facing faces are made of a weldable plastic material, insert the outermost layer of the side faces facing the flat sides is made of a weldable plastic material.
According to a further embodiment, the invention is characterized in that at least the outermost layer of the first and second faces facing away from the tooth tooth is made of a non-weldable plastic material.
The bags will preferably be made of multilayer foil. This facilitates a fabrication, since confluence takes place only between the weldable materials which are engaged with one another.
According to a further embodiment, the invention is characterized in that the weldable plastic material is PE or PP and that the non-weldable plastic material is PET, OPA or OPP. Whether these weldable and non-weldable plastics are preferred, it will also be possible to use other plastics. However, in practice, it is the plastic materials referred to that have the most widespread use in the manufacture of plastic bags.
According to a further embodiment, the invention is characterized in that the zipper elements are fixedly welded or fixed to the flat sides. As already mentioned, the zipper elements will be mounted on the side surfaces. This can be done by welding or gluing directly on the flat sides. Thus, the folded side pieces will be clamped between cooperating zipper elements when the bag is closed.
According to a further embodiment, the invention is characterized in that the recess is formed by the side portions of the bag being formed by an extruded web with the recess formed by the extrusion. When extruding foil webs with a flat nozzle, it is easy to establish the recess simply by adapting the nozzle opening of the flat nozzle to the desired profile of the side pieces. If multilayer foils are used to produce the first and second plastic foils, it will be possible that the outermost layers of the surface sides have a thickness corresponding to the depth of the recess. In this way, the recess can be simply provided by the outer layer of the multilayer foil having a thickness corresponding to the thickness of the second plastic foil used to form the side pieces. In this way, the recess can alternatively be established by placing the additional foil layers in webs having a mutual width corresponding to the desired width of the recess.
According to a further embodiment, the invention is characterized in that the bag is also provided with a folded bottom. Although the bag above is explained as being a side folding bag, the bag may optionally be provided with a folded bottom. The advantage of the invention will be achieved regardless of the design of the bottom of the bag.
The recess has a width corresponding to the width of the zipper elements. It is possible to produce the recess with different widths, provided that the width of the recess is at least equal to the width of the zipper elements.
As an alternative to forming the recess by extrusion, methods for removing material can be used. This can be done by burning material away with a heat jaw or by sanding away material.
Generally, a bag according to the invention will be made by forming in webs.
Bags will thus be formed by bag webs of the type having side pieces and bottom pieces connected to the flat sides. Side pieces and bottom pieces will thus generally be folded sides and / or bottom. Thus, between the two foil webs are placed separate folded foil pieces which form the folded side pieces of the bag and possibly also folded bottom pieces. The web is cut to form the individual bags. If the bags are provided with a zipper closure, the zipper elements will be located between the two superimposed bag webs so that they can cooperate to close the bag formed. The zipper elements will be made of long lengths which are applied to the bag webs before the side pieces are placed.
An example of the principle preparation of a bag web can be found, for example, in US 6,796,932. However, the method described must be adapted in that side pieces extend over the entire width of the bag web and in that the foil webs used to form the side pieces must be provided with recesses next to the location of the zipper lid. Character description
The invention will then be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying schematic drawing, wherein
FIG. 1 and 2 show a plan view and a top view, respectively, of a known bag,
FIG. 3 and 4 show images similar to FIG. 1 and 2 of a bag according to the invention,
Figs. 5A and 5B show sectional views along the line V-V in Figs. 3 with the bag open and closed, respectively,
FIG. 6 is a schematic view of a foil web for use in making the side pieces;
FIG. 7 shows a blank cut from the one shown in FIG. 6 for use in forming the side pieces, and
FIG. 8 shows a principle preparation in which the FIG. 7 items are placed between two foil webs to form flat sides and side surfaces of the bag blank.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION In the specification, identical or similar elements will be designated by the same reference numeral, however, so that the embodiment of the invention will have reference numerals in the known embodiment added to 100. Thus, a known bag 1 shown in FIG. 1 and 2, designated as the bag 101 of FIG. 3 and 4, where a bag according to the invention is shown. In FIG. 1 and 2, a bag 1 according to the prior art is seen. The pouch 1 is formed by a leading flat side 2 and a second flat side 3. Between the two flat sides are folded side pieces 4. In fig. 1, dotted lines 5 illustrate a fold indicating at the same time the extent of the folded side pieces 4. The side pieces 4 are welded to the flat sides 2,3 in edge areas 6 adjacent to the side edges of the flat sides 7. At the bottom, the bag is provided with a folded bottom piece 8. and the extent of this is marked by the dotted line 9, which indicates the fold of the folded bottom piece 8, The bottom piece 8 is also fixed to the flat sides in an edge area 10 which abuts the lower side edge 11 of the bag.
At the upper side edge 12 of the bag, an opening 13 is provided (see Fig. 2).
The pouch 1 is provided with a zipper cover 14 extending parallel to the upper side edge 12 of the pouch encircling the opening 13. The zipper cover 14 extends between the two opposite side edges 7 of the pouch.
The zip closure is formed by strip-shaped zip closure elements 116 and 117, which will be explained in more detail with reference to FIG. 5A and 5B. In FIG. 1 it will be seen that the side lashes 4 have an upper bevel edge 5 'which is in a position below the zipper lid 14. A foil strip 16 covers the upper end of the side pieces 4 and adheres these to one of the bag sides 2,3 to secure a tight closure of the bag. 1 FIG. 2 is the one shown in FIG. 1, as shown in Figure 1, when opened. Thus, it is seen that the opening 13 is lens-shaped and extends between the two direct joints of the flat sides 2,3 in the edge regions 6.
Although the bag 1 in a position below the zipper lid 14 is provided with folded side pieces 4 which allow for increased volume and a larger cross-section of the bag, the bag in the opening 13 will have the shape shown in FIG. 2nd
A bag 101 according to the invention is shown in FIG. 3 and 4. This bag differs primarily in that the folded side pieces 104 extend over the entire height of the bag to the top edge 112 enclosing the opening 113. The side pieces 104 are modified by forming a recess 11.5, which is explained in more detail below.
As is particularly evident in FIG. 4, the folded side pieces 104 are welded at the edge regions 106. Upon opening the bag, the folded side pieces 104 will be unfolded, as illustrated in FIG. 4. This results in the opening 113 of the bag having a substantially rectangular cross-section. Thus, the aperture 113 will be substantially larger than the aperture 13 shown in FIG. 2nd
At the location where the zipper lid 114 is located, a recesses 15 are formed in the side pieces 104. This recess 115 can be seen more clearly in FIG. 5-8. l ig. 5A and 5B, the situation of the zipper lid 114 is shown in the open and closed states respectively.
The zipper lid 114 consists of the zipper elements 116 and 117. The zipper element 116 is a dog part. A cross-section through a strip-shaped element is shown. The dog part has two resilient legs 118 which enclose a concavity 119. The trade 117 is also strip-shaped and has a strip-shaped projection 120 intended for inclusion in the concavity 119.
As illustrated in Figs. 5A and 5B, the folded side pieces 104 in the area of the zipper are superposed so that there are two folded portions of a side piece next to the zipper lid 114, the recess 115 located next to the two zipper elements 116 and 117. When the zipper members 116 and 117 are engaged as illustrated in FIG. 5B, the two thin layers of material from the side pieces 104 will be clamped within the concavity 119 and retained by the projection 120A engagement. Due to the resilient ability of the legs 118, the extra material thickness which is adjacent to the side pieces can be accommodated in the zipper cover.
FIG. 6 illustrates a foil web 121 in which a recess 115 is formed. The arrow 122 indicates the direction of manufacture of the web. The web is made by extrusion in a sheet, so that the recess 115 appears in the film web 121 during its manufacture. It will be seen here that the material thickness 123 at the recess is considerably smaller than the material thickness 124 for the film web 121.
The material thickness next to the recess will typically be between 5 and 25 microns and preferably between 10 and 20 microns. The material thickness of the plastic film 121 will typically be between 50 and 200 µm, preferably between 80 and 120 µm.
Fig. 7 shows a blank 125 cut out of the material web 121 and then folded to form a tubular shape with the recess 115 located externally of the tubular mold.
FIG. 8 illustrates how the tubular members 125 are positioned between a first foil web 126 and a second foil web 127 used to form the first and second bag sides 102 and 103;
Thus, the blanks 125 will be flattened as the film webs 126 and 127 are joined. Next, a cut is made at cutting lines marked by the dashed lines 128. Thus, a blank will form a side piece formed in a bag made by a manufacturing method described in principle in U.S. Patent 6,796,932. 8, one zipper member 117 attached to the film web 127 is seen in a position before the blanks 125 are applied. On the underside of the film web 126, the zipper element 116 will be disposed. Thus, when the blanks 125 are positioned between the two film webs, the outwardly facing recesses 115 will be positioned next to the placement of the seam elements 116,117.
Alternatively, it is possible to have the recesses 115 on the opposite side of the film webs.
The bags are made by advancing the foil webs in the direction indicated by arrow 129.
It should be noted that FIG. 8 illustrates only part of the manufacturing process, with reference to the principle description of a manufacturing process given in US 6,796,932;
